A line is often drawn between us and the rest of the world. We harvest cotton and transform it into sheets that we use to keep us sheltered from the environment they were synthesized from. Similarly, we’ve developed a tradition of taking photos of our environment, to materialize a moment into a handheld object. Although individuals may take photographs of the same subject; no two people take the same image. Each image is unique and colored by the person's perception of the moment lived. Through this process, we alchemize our experiences with the natural world into something human, dissolving the separation of the self and the environment. The individual connection we all share with nature encourages us to step back and view our place in the ecosystem.
